The Google Car hits a baby deer in New York

Blogs are in flames due to this incident happened with the Google Car...

An empty road crossing a forest. Suddently a young deer crossed the road...

The deer sees the car, tries to get away from it and starts running in front of him...

But finally the deer hits against the car and ends up on the floor

Once the car has passed we can see how the deer is in one side of the road...

Those who love animals, and Bambi fans, can remain calm, it seems that the young deer went away from there by itself before the Police arrives...

The own Google Street View team published a note about the topic in their official blog:
http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2009/01/oh-deer-street-view-and-road-safety.html

"Gathering the imagery for Street View requires quite a bit of driving; as such, we take safety very seriously. Unfortunately, accidents do happen -- as some people have noticed, one of our Street View cars hit a deer while driving on a rural road in upstate New York. Due to several user requests using the "Report a concern" tool, these images are no longer available in Street View.

The driver was understandably upset, and promptly stopped to alert the local police and the Street View team at Google. The deer was able to move and had left the area by the time the police arrived. The police explained to our driver that, sadly, this was not an uncommon occurrence in the region -- the New York State Department of Transportation estimates that 60,000-70,000 deer collisions happen per year in New York alone -- and no police report needed to be filed. "

As Google says, the images are not in Street View anymore, but here you can see the fatidic road, right before the place of the incident. Beyond here, the deep black we start to be used to...

Help!!! I am stuck in my car!... in California

It seems that this good woman jumped into the car to reach the last supermarket bag that was left in the trunk and she ended up with her legs up. Wouldn't it have been easier to just push the car ahead a little bit??

Screenshot

The picture is not that bad, but it is out of Google Street View already. Probably this strong legs lady does not like when she shows her housen in Street View and her friends find her in such an inconvenient position.

What is she doing down there??… in Barcelona

Screenshot

An empty street, a lonely car... so far so good, but... what if we get closer, ignore the shining effects and use our imagination a little bit? Do you see the same that I do here? It looks like somebody is maneuvering in the lonely car, but without a driver's license.

The city of love… Paris of course

It is said that Paris is the City of Love, and so it must be since you only need to see how pasionately this couple is kissing in Rue de Huchette. Frenchmen clearly want to outbeat italians and raise the same passions that can be seen beside the Colossemun in Rome, as can be seen in the post Passion in front of the Colosseum in Rome...

Sunbathing on the grass… in Stanford

The beach is not that far from there, but these girls prefer to sunbath on the grass. What they were not aware of is that Google's spy-car, now turned into Google's voyeur-car would take a ride around there...

As could be expected, the picture was taken away from Google long ago:

Loosing the head... in Nice

The copy paste that Google does with all the 360º pictures causes some times weird things. Specifically here, it has made this guy loose his head

A little siesta is good for anyone... in Baltimore

It is said that Spanish and Mexicans use to take a little nap or siesta after lunch. It looks like there are fans in Baltimore too. It does not look very comfy though...

New shoes for the Google Car… in Australia

In Street View we can see funny things when the Google drivers forget turning off their cameras... Like in this case, in which we can see that even the Google cars have a flat tyre once in a while.

The maid's street... in Osaka

There is a street in Osaka in which we can see at least two girls disguised as maids. If you turn the camera, you will find the other one. ¿Is this the welthiest street in Osaka or just advertising?

Big parade for Google's visit…to Pitsburgh

In this street they agreed a visit of Google Car and they made a big parade! You can see all sort of weird things: a music band, a mad laboratory, a rock band, some firemen rescuing a cat, a sword fight and even a scape. You can read the full history and find links to all scenes in Street View at: http://streetwithaview.com/scenes.html

The only city shown at night in Street View

The only city shown at night in Street View is, of course, the city that never sleeps: Las Vegas. It might be that it never sleeps or maybe is the only city with so many lights that at night, that it looks like day light, and the Google car can take pictures. Also there is the theory that the Google drive went to play to the casino at the Mirage and forgot to stop the camera...

Porsche prototypes caught at Mt. Evans, Colorado

Car manufacturers often test their prototypes under extreme conditions, and very often in public roads. Like in this road in Mount Evans, one of the highest in US.
But in public roads any photographer could catch you or, even worse, the Google spy car could multi-catch you, like in this case. These guys rushed to cover the cars, but it was not enough. If you go through the pictures around this one, you can see quite a few Porsche prototypes.
A good catch for Porsche, no doubt.

Direct sun is causing some trouble to Google cams and this picture taken at the south of Manhattan is slightly over exposed, resulting in a psicodelic effect.

If there is a good oops! in Street View, it is this one

I was reluctant to publish this here, but this site could not be name Street View Hacks without this hack. One woman was caught peeing in the street, in good daylight. You can call it bad luck, but… if you don't want to be captured like this, you'd better not do it....
The picture is of course removed from Google, but in the embebed 360' picture, live in Street View, you can see some little rivers falling down the slope... and it was not rainy.
